One agent covers the whole service, FrunkShow included, registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. Post and email reach me the same way the form does; the form is faster because it asks for everything the law requires and gives you a reference.

What a notice must contain

All six, or it is not a valid notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512 and I may not be able to act on it.

Your signature. Physical or electronic, from the copyright owner or someone authorised to act for them. Typing your full name in the form counts.
The work. The title, the author, a registration number, or a link to the original. A representative list covers several works.
The material. The FrunkShow link or file id, or enough detail for me to find it.
How to reach you. Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
A good-faith statement. That you believe the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent, or the law.
An accuracy statement. That the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you own an exclusive right in the work or act for the owner.

If something is missing I will tell you what.

What I do with a notice

I read it. If it holds up I remove or disable the material, write down what I did, and send a copy of your notice to whoever supplied it so they can answer.

No software takes anything down. A person decides every time, and that person is me. FrunkShow does not review what people make — a notice is normally the first I hear of it.

Counter-notices

If your material came down by mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice through the same form. It must contain:

Your physical or electronic signature.
The material that was removed, and where it was before I removed it.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
Your name, mailing address and telephone number, your consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the district your address is in (or, outside the United States, any district I may be found in), and that you will accept service of process from whoever sent the original notice.

I forward it to the person who complained. Unless they tell me within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, the material goes back no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after I receive your counter-notice.

A counter-notice sent today restores between September 22 and September 28. Both dates go on your reference.

Repeat infringers

I terminate the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly, and block saving and email for anyone who does it without one. Every notice and what I did about it is on record, so the policy runs on the file rather than on my memory. Material restored after an unanswered counter-notice does not count against anyone.

Misuse

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), knowingly misrepresenting that material infringes, or that it came down by mistake, carries liability for damages, costs and attorneys’ fees. Be sure before you sign. I cannot give you legal advice.

Send a notice or counter-notice

Everything is required except the organisation, and the phone number and address on a notice. A counter-notice needs all three of your name, address and telephone number. I keep what you send as a legal record, give the other party the copy the law entitles them to, and publish none of it.

You get a receipt with a private link to the complaint. My reply lands on that link and in your email.

I store the details above with a hashed form of your address, your browser string and the time, to handle the complaint and to apply the repeat-infringer policy. Privacy. Anything that is not itself a notice goes to the contact form.
